  We have spent much of our lives in Seneca County and have developed a deep appreciation for its people, its agricultural heritage, and the land and natural resources that make this county such a special place to call home. We also understand that decisions made by local government today can affect our communities for generations. That is one of the reasons we are supporting David Ziegler for Seneca County Commissioner.

  Through Roy’s career as a veterinarian working with farmers and families throughout the area, and through our involvement in the community, we have seen how closely agriculture, our environment, and our quality of life are connected. Economic development is important, but growth should be thoughtful. When a major project could affect neighboring farms, roads, water resources, or nearby residents, people deserve to have their concerns heard. Recent discussions surrounding large agricultural development have reinforced for us the importance of local officials who are willing to ask difficult questions, consider the science and facts, and listen to the people who will live with the consequences.

  We believe Dave Ziegler brings that approach to public service. His experience as an Eden Township Trustee has taught him the importance of listening to residents and carefully considering how decisions will affect a community. Protecting what makes Seneca County special does not mean opposing progress. It means planning for the future, respecting our agricultural heritage and natural resources, and making sure development is responsible and appropriate for the community.

  Seneca County deserves public officials who understand that they are there to serve the people.   I have always believed that the strength of a community comes from the people who are willing to invest their time and effort into making it better. Through my involvement with the Seneca East Board of Education and supporting educational opportunities for local students, I have seen firsthand how important it is to plan for the future while taking care of the people who call Seneca County home. That is why I am supporting David Ziegler for Seneca County Commissioner.

  One of the biggest challenges facing communities like ours is making sure the next generation has a reason to stay. We need good jobs, strong schools, dependable infrastructure, and communities where young families can afford to build a life. Those things do not happen overnight, and they do not happen without people willing to put in the work. Dave understands that. As an Eden Township Trustee, he has demonstrated a commitment to maintaining essential services, improving his community, and making responsible decisions with taxpayer dollars.

  What I appreciate about Dave is his practical approach. He understands that you cannot solve every problem by throwing money at it, and you cannot make good decisions without listening to the people affected. He is willing to ask questions, work with others, and look beyond the immediate issue to consider what is best for the community in the long run. Those are important qualities in someone responsible for helping guide Seneca County’s future.

  I have never considered myself much of a politician. I am a businessman who had the opportunity to serve as a Seneca County Commissioner, and I approached that job much the same way I have approached business: surround yourself with good people, listen to them, watch the bottom line, and get things done. Those are qualities I see in David Ziegler, and that is why I am supporting him for Seneca County Commissioner.

  Having built a manufacturing business here in Seneca County, I know how important it is to have local government that understands what it takes to create jobs and keep businesses growing. Good infrastructure matters. Responsible spending matters. Strong public services matter. And having elected officials who will answer the phone, listen, and work through problems matters. Dave understands that. His years as an Eden Township Trustee have given him hands-on experience managing taxpayer dollars, maintaining infrastructure, supporting essential services, and making the practical decisions local government requires.

  I also respect that Dave is a working man. He understands what it means to earn a paycheck, balance a budget, and be accountable for the decisions you make. He is not someone who needs the spotlight or wants to make everything political. He wants to roll up his sleeves, work with people, and get the job done. That is the kind of approach I valued when I served as Commissioner, and it is the kind of approach I believe Dave would bring to the office.

  Having served eight years as a Seneca County Commissioner, I know the responsibilities that come with the office and the qualities it takes to do the job well. That is why I am supporting David Ziegler for Seneca County Commissioner. Dave brings nine years of experience as an Eden Township Trustee, but just as importantly, he brings a practical approach to government. He listens, asks questions, works with people, and understands that every dollar government spends belongs to the taxpayers.

  My career in community banking and economic development taught me that strong communities are built by people who understand both fiscal responsibility and the importance of investing wisely in the future. I see those qualities in Dave. As a trustee, he has worked to improve roads and fire protection, invest in his community, and plan responsibly for the future. He understands that local government is not about politics or headlines. It is about solving problems, providing dependable services, and making sound decisions for the people you represent.

  Dave is also someone who will be accessible. He will answer the phone, listen to residents, and be willing to sit down with people even when they disagree. He does not pretend to have every answer, and I consider that a strength. Good public officials listen to the people who know an issue, gather the facts, and then make the best decision they can for the community.

  I have spent much of my life working to make Seneca County a better place to live, work, and raise a family, both in public office and in the private sector.
